The St. Andrew Central Police are conducting an investigation into an incident in which an alleged security guard was shot and injured by a licensed firearm holder at an apartment complex on Braemar Avenue in New Kingston Monday afternoon. It’s reported that shortly after 5 o’clock, the licensed firearm holder, who is an investor, and the alleged security guard, who was not wearing a uniform, were involved in an altercation. A report from the police stated that the security guard attacked the firearm holder and pushed him to the ground. The businessman pulled his firearm and discharged one round which struck the security guard in the neck.
Other security guards, who were present, disarmed the businessman and took him into custody. The injured guard was taken to hospital for treatment. The incident, which was captured on video, has gone viral. The St. Andrew Central Police reported that the businessman’s firearm has been seized for ballistics testing.
